Although these conversations may talk about weight loss, this is not a conversation about weight loss. This is a conversation about movement, community, a little running and a lot of hope. We will start where they are now and the role that movement plays in their lives. We may talk about our relationships with fueling our bodies and the motivations for movement and big goals. The weight is in the background for a lot of us and may come up in conversations of our past. I invite you to listen with an open heart and mind. You may hear something that lights a spark in you or that you can use to help inspire someone you love.
Blake and I met in June of 2024 at a Park Run. Don’t ask me for the play by play. I’m pretty sure she was the social one that said “hey, you guys run at a similar pace…let’s be friends.” We saw her again for the tutu run at the end of the month, shared social media handles and folded her into our local run groups. It’s weird to me to think it’s barely been a year and a half. Since Coach Irina and I hosted a group training program last winter, I’ve gotten to know Blake in a way that feels like she’s always been in my life. I hope you enjoy this conversation.
