Leaving it to Fate with Emma

Although these conversations may talk about weight loss, this is not a conversation about weight loss. This is a conversation about movement, community, a little running and a lot of hope. We will start where Emma is now and the role that movement plays in her life as well as what it’s done for her family. We may talk about our relationships with fueling our bodies and the motivations for movement and big goals. The weight is in the background for a lot of us and may come up in conversations of our past. I invite you to listen with an open heart and mind. You may hear something that lights a spark in you or that you can use to help inspire someone you love.

Emma and I connected due to Too Legit Fitness. Obviously, I stand out when I’m running with Amelia in the stroller. It’s easy for other mothers and an LCSW who works with mothers to notice me and choose to connect. Her heart is bigger than her introvertedness. We’ve since shared countless conversations and miles because we see each other. Listen closely as she reminds us that the first step is often hard, but few ever regret it. When we slow down, breathe and remember that we are worthy of the time, love and care we give to so many others, our worlds grow in so many beautiful ways.

You don’t have to be a runner to be touched by her story. Heck, she’s still struggling to call herself an athlete. We’re all human. We all deserve to live full, strong and healthy lives.
