Things I Know To Be True

I often find myself thinking, and have even said out loud a few times, “I don’t know what I did to deserve you in my life, these blessings in my life, these friends, this support…”

But if I stop to think about it, that’s not true. I’ve manifested some of the best people in the world into my life because I’m generally a good person. Like attracts like, right?

I was raised by a Mother who always took care of the people around her. She taught me to be the type of person who loved taking care of other people. As I’ve grown over the years, I’ve learned the value of balance. I no longer give without boundaries but I genuinely enjoy caring for other people.

I attract generous people. My love language is quality time and I generally enjoy spending time with people who add to the love, joy, happiness and generosity that I feel.

I am not the type of person to ask for help often. I am the type of person that will go out of my way to help others though. I wear my heart on my sleeve and I learned at a very young age that left unchecked, I will give someone the shirt off of my back and stand in the rain, cold. I am not the person you can always rely on to have an extra $20, but I donate to my mom friends when they’re hustling to make emergency money. I may not be the friend you can expect to take you out to dinner regularly, but if you’re in need of a meal, you can always count on me to feed you because my mother taught me how to make the most of what we’ve got.

I’ve learned to graciously accept the abundance around me. I’m learning to accept assistance when it’s offered. I’m learning to accept crowd funding and donations to launch my blog and business. I’ve learned to thank the universe for bringing kind people into my life. I will continue to lead with my heart wide open. I will give graciously to those around me and accept the love as it flows back around.
