This may be one of the only times I’m comfortable being called a tool. I love being a tool in your therapy belt, a tool you use to help you heal and grow, a tool you use to help your relationship grow.
I’ve lived a lot of life in my 40+ years on this earth and besides helping you to run safer and enjoy the process, I love being the person that helps you find new joys in life. I love being the person that helps you connect theories you may have picked up with the real practice of your life
(I’m also going to check in to ask how you’re doing with that therapy homework…)
There are very few topics that are off limits with me. As your coach, I need to know how you’re sleeping, how your kids are doing in school, and how that stressful work project is going. I’m also very comfortable talking about your social and romantic relationships. Are you having a hard time connecting with your friends because they don’t support your healthier lifestyle? Been there, done that. Brittany made a whole move about it, lol. We can talk about it. I might offer a few suggestions for ways to reconnect. I might also suggest a few new run groups where you might possibly make new friends.
How is your romantic life going? Did you know that improving your health and increasing your endurance can also benefit you in the bedroom? Outside of increasing your confidence as you feel better about your body, adding more cardio to your routine and a few new strength moves can improve your intimate performance and experience. Pelvic tilts and glute bridges for the win!!
I’ve spoken on this recently but in case you missed it, the happy endorphins that you create by working out are similar to the happy endorphins that you create when you achieve orgasm. The more happy endorphins you create, the more you want to create. Conversely, the longer you go without those happy endorphins, the easier it is to continue to keep going without them.
Intimacy with yourself or with your partner is just like working out in so many ways but specifically when it comes to reinforcing that positive cycle. When you get up and walk today for 10 minutes, it’s easier to get up and walk tomorrow. When you tell yourself that you don’t need to do anything today, it’s easier to tell yourself you don’t need to do anything tomorrow. The craving for that happy dopamine shot is intensified when you’ve had it recently and you want more of it.
So where are you getting those happy hormones flowing today? How long have you let yourself go without those endorphins? How can I help you strategize to improve your physical and mental health in all the ways? Make me a tool in your tool box. Together, we can achieve so much more!!
